Heavy Metal Kids - Ultimate Kids Capers (DVD)

A collection of Heavy Metal Kids videos was released as an online-only DVD called "Heavy Metal Kids - Ultimate Kids Capers" on the official website (the DVD is a region-free version with NTSC video and can be played in Japan).

The DVD contains over 100 minutes of footage, including 64 minutes of HMK footage from the 1970s, 8 minutes of footage from a performance at Barbarella's in Birmingham, and finally 28 minutes of footage from the reunited HMK (aka The Kids) performance in Croatia in 2011 and their UFO tour in 2012.

4 songs live from French TV in 1975 featuring the Cosmo/ John Sinclair line-up and the songs played are The Turk, Crisis, The Cops are Coming and It's the Same. The film has been cleaned up and the sound remastered and to date is the best live footage of the band. There is also a super clean version of She's No Angel from German TV that has not been seen since 1977.

As well as this there is nearly 10 minutes of newly transferred film from Barbarella's club in Birmingham with dubbed live sound from Barbarella's. This has been cut into a montage and songs include Jackie the Lad, The Cops are Coming, She's No Angel, Rock 'n' Roll Man and Delirious.

On top of all this there is a New Kids chapter which features the Uncontrollable Promo clip with John Altman. It also has Chelsea Kids, Whiskey, The Cops are Coming clips Live in Croatia with Phil Lewis, and Hangin' On, Hit the Right Button and Delirious clips from the 2012 UFO Tour.

All this as well as the Panorama, Old Gray Whistle Test and Top of the Pops clips and more make over a 100 minutes of Ultimate Kids Capers!

This is not a product that I would recommend to everyone, but I was impressed that this footage of heavy metal kids from that era still exists in this quality. This is a must-see for fans of 70's glam/R&R/hard rock!
