In recent years, various artists have been releasing new works on cassette tape, but this work is being released as an 8-track cassette tape version!

[What is an 8-track cassette tape?]

This format was widely available in the 1970s and was also called cartridge tape. It was not the size of a cassette tape, but instead contained an endless tape in an 8-track cartridge that could only be played on a dedicated cassette deck. It was a rather niche medium, but its completely different appearance from LPs and cassettes made it a popular format among some (this was before the advent of CDs).
With the advent of the compact, higher quality cassette tape, the cassette tape eventually disappeared from the market. But now, more than 40 years later, perhaps due to its retro appeal, some artists are releasing new works on 8-track cassette tapes!
