The Lafayette Afro-Rock Band - Malik: Limited Edition (cassette)

The remastered sound source of the 1974 second album by the American funk band Lafayette Afro Rock Band, which has been widely used as a treasure trove of sampling sources and riffs, was reissued in 2025 as a limited edition cassette tape, "The Lafayette Afro-Rock Band - Malik: Limited Edition (cassette)."

The band/album, which remained unknown at the time of its initial release, was later rediscovered through DJ culture and re-evaluated as a masterpiece that highly fused Afro-funk grooves with powerful rock riffs.

This is a 2025 "Cassette Week" release featuring a powerful funk sound that remains vibrant today, bursting forth with overwhelmingly cool album artwork presented in the cassette's vertical format.

Although this genre is underrepresented in our store, the manager's personal preference for this album as a favorite has led to its inclusion in our product lineup. We hope you'll enjoy it too!
